habits forming

It's reached the point where if I don't draw at least once a day i will feel unfulfilled, anxious, and depressed.

And oh my, colored pencils are fun.

Gonna ask my mom if she can send up the scanner from home...  taking pics is time consuming and also shoddy quality even with a state of the art smart phone.

faeries, ballerinas, hands.

Been studying Andrew Loomis.  I also for some reason wanted to draw dancing women this week, and these faeries just popped in my head.  I drew most of the ballerinas from reference pictures.  Loomis suggests you should draw individual fingers before moving on to hands, so I'm following it.

Faces, more muscles and Spartacus

I've been drawing at school in between classes and during desk warming hours to further enhance my artistic tradeskill.  I also recently recieved "Figure Drawing for All It's Worth" HARDCOVER, not a shitty pdf print out, and my oh my I am so happy.  I plan on getting the rest of his books as Andrew Loomis is a fucking genius.  Faces are a bitch to draw.  I used a lot of pictures as reference from Spartacus this week, as that show has its final episode tonight.  Brilliant series and vastly underrated, what began as a cheap 300 knockoff evolved into an epic tragedy.  Highly recommended.

I still have a lot of learning to do with the face, shading, and the general human figure, but I'm pretty happy I pushed myself through my comfort zone and tried something new.

I need a scanner.

The local Starbucks continues to be a good people watching position.  I definitely need to get a scanner sometime, as taking pics with my iphone is producing shady results.  Ah well, at least it's proof I'm drawing and not slacking off.
